The British Husky tactical support vehicle was derived from the heavy pickup trucks of the U.S. company Navistar. It is a contemporary wheeled light transport vehicle and armoured personnel carrier approximately 6 meters long by 2.36 meters wide. A single International VT 365 engine provides the drive and hosts power up to 325 HP allowing an operating range of approximately 650 kilometers. It was developed from the MXT-MV by modernising and adapting it to meet the requirements of the British Army. It is extremely mobile both on and off-road with 4x4 wheel drive and an important feature of the Husky is it’s ability to easily add armourments in the field. It can be transported by the C-130 Hercules Plane. It has better cross-country capability than normal wheeled vehicles and can be easily modified. The British Army named this vehicle after the working dog Husky in the Polar regions.
